“On the Road” with AW2
"On-the-road crating and packaging" refers to secure packaging and protecting items within custom-built crates at the customer site. These crates are specifically designed to withstand the vibrations and movement experienced during transportation on the road (or, in this case, overseas). They are typically used for fragile or high-value goods to ensure their safe arrival at the destination.
The AW2 Process begins with a thorough assessment of your items. We measure, plan, design, and build a custom crate tailored to your project. Our crating specialists ensure that your belongings are securely packed and protected for transportation, utilizing a variety of packaging options to meet your unique requirements.
We recently faced a challenge involving an extensive consumer production line manufactured in the United States that required crating and storage for up to (3) years. This was a complex onsite packaging project for a global leader in turnkey packaging line design and production line manufacturing.
AW2’s Road Crew spent four weeks on site working in unison with the manufacturer and machinery mover to ensure all equipment was prepped, preserved, and packed for long-term storage and overseas shipment. All equipment that will ship out of gauge was prepped and packaged for long-term storage and export shipment.
Our vapor barrier packaging offers superior protection for items at risk of corrosion, such as electronics or those with sensitive or bare metal surfaces, especially during ocean transport. All Items were vacuum-sealed inside foil bags with desiccant emitters inside the barrier. This process significantly lowers the humidity level inside the barrier bag, helping to prevent corrosion and maintain the integrity and functionality of the equipment.
This entire project was completed ahead of schedule with 100% customer satisfaction.
