Supply Chain Visibility
Better visibility into complex supply chains translates to fewer disruptions, increased customer satisfaction and lower costs. A supply chain visibility (SCV) project empowers product teams to spot and fix weaknesses in the supply chain, such as inventory shortfalls or order fulfillment issues, before they become major problems.
Sounds great. But many companies have found gaining meaningful end-to-end insights a bigger challenge than they banked on. One of the biggest reasons is that key players are left out of the early planning stage or are not involved at all until it is too late.
AW2 Logistics strive to bring visibility to every project we work on, however, we face imposing challenge. For example, if we are handling warehousing for a project and are not in contact with team handling freight, then we don’t get updates on manufacturing status or other issues relating to freight. If we did, we could bring added value to the client on other areas of the project.
To increase SCV, you must gather and disseminate timely, relevant supply chain data across the organization—and then make sure it’s analyzed and acted on. This is a three-step process.
Technology. You need to be working with logistics professionals who are using a range of technology solutions to supply real-time information to all stakeholders on your project. SCV software solutions range from simple point products to suites with dozens of modules that natively integrate supply chain and logistics capabilities with core back-end systems like ERP and CRM.
Process Improvements. Make sure all decision-makers receive relevant reports related to supply chain activities—and that they have the ability to act on that information.
Drive Efficiency. As your team gains deeper insights into the supply chain, from material sourcing to manufacturing to end customer, they’ll inevitably identify areas where you could improve.
Overall, any warehouse can price logistics work and win that business. But a real logistics provider like AW2 brings tangible added value rather than just a dry place to store your product.
