How I conquered New York!

The renovation of a historic hotel is a challenge under any circumstances. But throw in Manhattan, NY and a beloved city landmark…well, the stakes couldn’t be higher…

This project put our full range of services to work – Warehousing, Distribution, Transportation and Installation. The hotel was constructed in 1926 and was not designed for the rigors of a 21-century makeover! We had the use of one badly placed 1920’s service elevator to complete a 399 room, 25 floor installation project over an 8-month period.

Did I mention doing this in Manhattan!? The traffic logistics alone were a nightmare, the working conditions were “hostile” and we regularly worked 18-hour days, seven days a week to achieve our goals.

The project was managed out of our New Jersey office. It was their experience, and proactive mentality in the area with other projects, that allowed this project to be completed on time with the highest quality of customer service possible.

According to the song, “If I can make it there, I can make it anywhere”, rings very true to me…it’s an experience I wouldn’t want to repeat but it prepared us well for the most strenuous of projects to come!
